Looking back far below to the trail we ascended up Stevens Gulch. At this point we had come about two and a half miles and were just over 13,000 feet high.
This Gulch leads up to Grays Peak, which is in the Rocky Mountain Front Range in Colorado. From Denver take I-70 West to exit 221 (Bakersville exit). You’ll follow the awful Stevens Gulch Road to just over 11,000 feet to the Grays Peak Trailhead. You definitely need a 4×4 with good clearance…
